A.R.I Grounds Maintenance Inc. does not accept any hazardous waste. Hazardous waste materials can be found in 310 CMR 30.130 Lists of Hazardous Waste. Please visit Mass.gov for the full list of hazardous waste materials. Common household materials considered hazardous waste which are not accepted in our dumpsters include but not limited to: gas, fuels, oils, paints, batteries, corrosive materials, flammable materials, telephone poles and railroad ties with creosote, toxic materials, explosives, fluorescent light bulbs, asbestos, biohazardous waste, etc.…

Secondly, “Waste Bans” are set by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, which can be found in 310 CMR 19.000: Solid Waste Management Facility Regulation. They are defined as such “19.017: Waste Bans (1) Purpose. The Department may restrict or prohibit the disposal, or transfer for disposal, of certain components of the solid waste stream when it determines that: (a) disposal of the material presents a potential adverse impact to public health, safety or the environment; or (b) a restriction or prohibition will result in the extension of the useful life or capacity of a facility or class of facilities or reduce its environmental impact; or (c) a restriction or prohibition will promote reuse, waste reduction, or recycling.”
